.com

You did not grow up in the dot com era if you have never had this text conversation, which I may or may not have just had with J:

Me: Happy belated...I suck, sorry I missed it
J: how the hell are you Adams

PS - J is the only person in my life that calls me Adams and I love it!!!

Me: Very hungover (maybe still drunk) going out with {name redacted - ex coworker} may need a buffer...you in?
J: May have other plans but call me later
Me: OK, going to nap on office floor now. I have grown up so much...remember when I used to have to nap on the communal leather couch that [names redacted] and countless others had sex on?
j: That's kicking old school Adams...nice!

I feel sorry for people that never got to experience that.

PS - I hate myself right now.

Let's see how long I can make a post

Well, I am ashamed at my lack of posting. It has been an eventful few weeks and I highly doubt I will be able ot update everything, but I am going to try and hit on a few highlights.

Chicago was amazing...truly amazing. I am on the fence still, but it may beat out New York for favorite city! The food was great, amazing sites, good nightlife, but what really made the city was the people. They are so friendly and warm that is almost feels like, well...you're in Canada! Dale tagged along on the trip and we had a great time. The shopping was seriously the best shopping ever. We shopped for over 5 hours one day and only hit about 4 stores. Nordstrom Rack was to die for. I got some crazy deals there...a dress for $6, FCUK pants for $10 and all sorts of craziness in between.

Dale's first night there was a bit of a nightmare that I don't want to relive, but I will say 4oz martinis are NOT a good idea when one is staying in a room with a marble bathroom. After a call to 1-800-dentist Tuesday morning we were pretty much squared away (except for the concussion and bruising, of course).

The conference I was there for was awesome. I learned a ton and met some great people. Outside the conference, Dale and I had some amazing meals (I can't even do Carnivale justice by describing it; trust me, if you are ever in Chicago go there!). We also spent a lot of time in the Viagra Triangle, which rightly lived up to its name. We happened to meet Chicago's best bartender, Mark who worked at one of the VT's bars and because he is an amazing bartender and all around great guy we hung out at Gobsins a few nights. We even did an after bar with him and one of his servers one night - really great guys.

I, of course, loved that we went to a Canucks game while there. It helped that they won, but it was very strange. The arena is huge (like 22,000) and I think there were less than 10,000 people at the game. It was so quiet and just strange. They really need some serious PR for their team. It sounds like with their new ownership they will get things going again though.

After all the delays I didn't get home until 2:30 in the morning on Saturday morning (I was supposed to be in at 11pm Friday). Getting into the airport on the Friday night at 1:30am on the night everyone has their Christmas party is not a good idea. We waited over a half hour for a cab...at the airport! It was crazy and freezing cold!

Saturday night was pretty lazy and we pretty much went to Tommy's, ordered in food and watched the fight.

Sunday I went out to mom and dad's in the morning for Dad's birthday brunch. We ate and did some shopping and then just hung out at mom and dad's for a bit...very chill.

Last week was quiet...just working/gym/dinner/sleep for the most part. I saw T on Thursday night and we had some wine, ordered dinner and watched Planet Earth...the most amazing DVD series ever!

Friday night a bunch of us went for dinner with Tommy and Mike at a new restaurant in Yaletown, which was really good. Of course, we ended up at Glowbal and then Republic for more damn bottle service. The night ended very late with Dale, Sarah and I at Tommy's passed out. He drove us all home in the morning and I didn't do a whole lot for the rest of the day until...

BON JOVI SATURDAY NIGHT. The concert was awesome and having the box made it even better. You don't realize how great it is until you have 3 or 6 beers and you take two steps to go to the bathroom instead of wading through 17,000 people from Surrey to get to the toilet.

After the concert I met up with Toad and we went over to his haunt then to a small after party then back to my place...another very late night. Sunday was pretty much a write off except for my massage, which left me in more pain than before going!

This week so far has been just work, gym and sleeping. I have a hair cut tonight and then some errands to run and an early night because I am training at 6am tomorrow. Ugh! This weekend should be quiet. T and I are doing dinner on Friday his birthday and more than likely our final goodbye as it seems that our relationship has now run its course. It was fun while it lasted.

Happy Holidays to all!!!
