Weekending

Friday again! Yeah! I will be leaving the country Sunday morning for a week in Chi town for a conference that I am very excited about. This will be my first time in Chicago as well; exploring a new city is alway fun.

This week has been good and somewhat boozy. Saturday night Mark and Dale threw a shindig for my birthday that was both well attended and fun. How can rockin out to Journey ever be a bad thing, right? It was a late night and I spent most of Sunday morning and early afternoon in bed with Dale who was suffering a fairly severe hangover. Mark even brought us fast food in bed (heavenly). T was on his way home from his weekend away and I asked if he could swing by and grab me on his way home, which he did (and I was very grateful for). Little did we know the damn Santa parade was on and we ended up getting stuck in traffic for about FOREVER! It was so painful. The entire time we were stuck I just kept saying "all I want is a shower". I finally made it home (T ended up parking the Porsche and walking home to avoid more pain) and immediately stripped and jumped in the shower to discover no hot water. Oh good lord - I almost ripped down my shower curtain in fury! Luckily T hadn't made it to the gym yet and I was able to pack a bag and head to his place for my long awaited shower. T went to the gym and I went shopping to grab ingredients for our favorite meal (rack of lamb - so yummy) and then just hung out at his place. We had an awesome dinner with an even better bottle of Chateau Neuf de Pape that someone gave me for my birthday (I still don't know who it was, but thank you to whoever gave it to me!!) We watched a subpar movie after dinner and then off to bed.

Monday I was exhausted and didn't do much. Tuesday was my actual birthday and T took me out for an amazing meal and another favorite bottle of wine Osoyoos La Rose. We took our time and just had a great night. After dessert we went downstairs to the bar area and had some port and watched the hockey game. This is usually the point in the evening we have to get home otherwise we would most certainly get arrested for public indecency. It is still like when we first met when we go out like that. We went back to his place and laid in bed and watched Seinfeld and giggle until we fell asleep (pretty much the perfect night!) I fell asleep to T whispering in my ear how much he loves me and that he was glad I wanted to celebrate my birthday with him. How sweet!!! Too bad we can never be together. haha.

Wednesday was gym and bed and last night my dream game was on...Green Bay vs Dallas. Unfort, Favre got hurt and my Packers lost, but it was a good game all the same. I watched the game at Todd's with him and Erin and Tina came by later on. We watched the hockey game after the football game and ordered pizza. I didn't drink too much and woke up hungover this morning. I can't tell anyone though because I am having a girl's night/birthday surprise night with Jill, Sarah and Dale. Jill would kill me if she knew I wasn't feeling my normal self. I think I know what the surprise is, but I will wait until next week to fill you all in on what goes down. All I know is we are starting at 5:30, which could be a recipe for disaster! I am looking forward to a night out with the girls. So much so that I have decided to leave work at 3 today to go do some shopping before heading home to get pretty tonight.

Tomorrow I have no plans, but have to catch an 8am flight Sunday morning, so I am thinking a whole lot of nothing is probably best. I may go to Jess's Christmas party, but not sure about that yet.

Dale will be in Chicago with me next week and apparently we have a sweet hookup for the most popular bar/resto in town, so that should be fun. I am also making her come to the Canucks game there. She will not be OK with that, but too damn bad!

I am out...
